20 January 2009There's a whole lot of you who crack apps meaning, download apps that may be priced at $10 for free by cracking them. Many more users will be able to crack apps very soon with the release of the 2G Jailbreak. Of course, naturally you would do this, who wouldn't...I admit I was planning to crack apps until I heard this "rumor" spreading about like ants in your pants.
This rumor states, that Apple some how geotags your location while you're obtaining these ipa files thus knowing who you are...thus billing your account. Now, some people would say
"But I didn't enter my credit card account onto iTunes, I only use iTune cards"
Then I would guess they use your address to send the nightmarish bill to you.
Various people, state that they've heard a story, about a man cracking apps till his heart content and then later finding out he was billed $1000+ from Apple, I guess he then complained to Apple, although I don't know the outcome. All these stories and rumors are not official, I did a bit of googling on this topic and didn't manage to find anything official. The rumors and stories I've heard were seen on forums.
Be really wary about this, and be careful with cracking applications with the release of redsn0w.
